Rules
1. The route is waymarked and must be followed at all times. Failure to do so will result in disqualification and, dependent on circumstance, can result in a future ban from the event.
2. Suitable footwear must be worn for this cross-country event. The organisers reserve the right to withdraw a competitor whose footwear is considered inappropriate.
3. Respect other runners; physical contact is prohibited and can result is disqualification. If another runner is in distress and requires assistance it is a fellow competitor's duty to aid them in any way they see fit.
4. Some of the route will cross roads and small byways. Marshals will control traffic as they see fit but roads will not be closed and cars and other vehicles present a hazard to runners. Road safety is a high priority and it is part of the runners responsibility to keep to the right of roads and look out for themselves and others.
5. All betting is strictly banned and punishments will be severe.
6. The Competitor shall wear the race number on the front of their upper body, clearly displayed, at all times whilst competing. No competitor shall be allowed to take part in any competition without wearing the appropriate race number and such number must be worn as issued and not be cut, folded or otherwise mutilated in any way. Any perforations on the number must not be made on any lettering or numerals that appear on them (ARC rules).
7. Age limit on race day for the 10 mile event, as stated in ARC rules (rule 24) , is 16. Anyone deemed by the judgement of the officials to be under, unless proved otherwise, will be denied entry. Their decision is final.
8. Swearing, alcohol or any indecent behaviour will not be tolerated.
9. The reverse of the race numbers must be filled out with relevant information. This can be life saving and anyone found without theirs filled out is liable for disqualification.
10. Any equipment or belonging left on site for the duration of the event will not be protected and it is the runner's responsibility to ensure their items are kept safe.
11. Dogs are allowed on route but must be kept on a short lead at all times and must start at the back to avoid tripping other runners. All dog mess must be cleared up on the cricket pitch and surrounding area.
